The research method used in this study is library research method in which the data were collected from various sources. The Research result shows that religious radicalsm is a serious problem whose solution should be found immediately. If it is ignored for a long time, it will bring negative impact and threaten the existence of NKRI. Nowadays, there is a great amount of religious violence that become “an achievement” in the caderization process done by Islamic radicals. Moreover, they have approached to any education levels, starting from secondary school level up to high school level. Therefore, it is necessary to have serious attempts in deradicalizing the Islamic Education taught to the students in order to prevent the growth of radicalization among various religions, languages, racial and ethnic groups. Artikel ini bertujuan untuk mengungkap pentingnya deradikalisasi dalam pendidikan Islam. Adapun metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu library research, di mana data dikumpulkan dari berbagai referensi. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa radikalisme perilaku keagamaan merupakan permasalahan yang harus segera dicarikan jalan keluarnya. Hal ini dikarenakan jika problematika ini dibiarkan, lambat laun akan menjadi fenomena gunung es yang sewaktu-waktu dapat meledak secara masif dan membahayakan keberlangsungan Negara Kesatuan Republik Indonesia (NKRI) dan kerukunan hidup umat beragama. Maraknya aksi kekerasan atas nama agama akhir-akhir ini diakui atau tidak merupakan suatu “keberhasilan” kaderisasi yang dilakukan oleh kalangan Islam radikal. Oleh karena itu, upaya melakukan deradikalisasi pendidikan agama (Islam) merupakan suatu keniscayaan, agar bibit-bibit kelompok radikal tidak tumbuh berkembang di tengah-tengah kebhinekaan agama, ras, suku, bangsa dan bahasa.
